On Saturday November 5, 2011 many area teachers, undergraduate, and graduate teacher candidates attended Professional Development Day. They attended a variety of seminars with 17 to choose from. Each attendee had the opportunity to attend 4 seminars. There were approximately 120 in attendance. This year’s Professional Development Day offered classes in the following areas: technology, classroom management, students’ mental health, Science, Reading, and Mathematics. Some seminars included; “Hands On Science with Literature,”
“Engaging & Motivating Intermediate & Middle School Readers,” “Reading Strategies for all Content,” and “Increasing your “SMART”ness”. On Friday and Saturday many attended the children’s and the young adult book sale. Next years Professional Development date is: October 27, 2012
